Keele Wing

is a 20 bedded unit which caters for young individuals aged 30-60 years with a physical disability. These disabilities can be genetic or acquired (perhaps as a result of a road traffic accident or stroke). The unit is divided into two corridors with the spacious lounge and dining area central to them. All 20 rooms are single with en-suite facilities.

Audley Wing

is a 45 bedded unit which caters for elderly people requiring nursing care. The unit has two sections – the original part of Audley Wing, comprising of two corridors linking to a spacious lounge and dining area for 30 of the bedrooms. An extension was added in October 2005 for a further 15 bedrooms and these have their own rooms, four of which have en-suite facilities.

Chester Wing

is a 33 bedded unit which caters for both elderly frail residents requiring nursing care and individuals with confusion and dementia type problems. Residents rooms are located along the two corridors which connect to the spacious lounge and dining area. There are 23 single rooms each with en-suite facilities and 5 twin bedded rooms, three of which have en-suite facilities.

Breward House

is a 13 bedded unit which caters for elderly people requiring personal or nursing care. The unit has 12 single rooms and 1 twin bedded room, all of which have en-suite facilities. The twin bedded room also has an en-suite shower room. There is a lounge and separate dining room for residents to relax in and a spacious lobby area where residents can also sit.

Sneyd & Chatterley Wing

are two 30 bedded units which cater for elderly frail residents requiring personal or nursing care who suffer with a mental illness, such as Dementia. Both units are divided into three corridors, each colour coded to assist in environmental orientation.

Two large lounge areas are furnished in such a way as to promote smaller groups which, research has shown, encourages socialisation and interaction between residents. It also helps to reduce agitation which can be caused by larger groups. Small annexe areas are also used for ‘quiet’ moments.
